Current Nairobi Governor Anne Kananu has dropped out of the race in favor of Polycarp Igathe.

“I have decided to shelve my gubernatorial bid for Nairobi County in favor of Polycarp Igathe. Let us all support Igathe. Campaign tutaingia mashinani pamoja, tutalala mashinani pamoja”, Anne Kananu posted to her followers on Twitter.

The gubernatorial race is now shaping up to be a two-horse race between Azimio La Umoja – One Kenya Alliance candidate Polycarp Igathe and Kenya Kwanza candidate Johnson Sakaja.

Igathe and Sakaja are a contrast from each other; the former is a businessman whereas the latter is a politician, having been the Nairobi senator for 5 years.

There are other candidates in the race, but only Agnes Kagure is the one who has used her huge money bank to put her PR to work.
