Karibu Nairobi! The streets just got a fresh set of numbers, and this time the message is even louder.
A final online poll by SwissPoll International has closed, and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino is sitting pretty at the top with a commanding 34.5%. That gives him a clear lead in the race for City Hall.
Coming in second is Kasarani MP Ronald Karauri on 21.6%, while Nairobi County Assembly Speaker James Gakuya is right behind him at 20.8%. The two are almost neck-and-neck for the runner-up spot.
Incumbent Governor Johnson Sakaja has been pushed down to fourth with only 11.6%. Businesswoman Agnes Kagure trails further behind on 6.3%.
This is the final ranking from the SwissPoll online vote. No more voting. The numbers are locked.
In Kanairo terms, Babu is currently the man with the biggest crowd. His TMP ticket is riding high, and the gap between him and the next challenger is comfortable. Karauri and Gakuya are fighting hard for second place, while Sakaja’s numbers look soft for a sitting governor.
The city is watching. The race for the keys to Nairobi is heating up, and right now the poll is saying one name louder than the rest: Babu Owino.
The election data, 2027 is near, but the early vibes from this online poll are clear. The people who clicked have spoken.
