In a statement on Tuesday, the police service noted that the exercise was slated to kick off on Thursday 24th March across the country.

“I the Inspector General, in the exercise of powers delegated to me by the National Police Service Commission, seek to recruit 5,000 suitably qualified applicants to be trained as Police Constables,” read the statement by IG Hillary Mutyambai.

“The exercise is scheduled to take place on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm throughout the country.”

The police service went further to outline the guidelines for the requirements of any interested applicants.

General requirements for both female and male applicants include; Kenyan citizenship, age bracket of 18 and 28 years, KCSE mean grade of D Plus and above with a D+ and above in either English or Kiswahili languages.

As for the KCSE results, NPS highlights that result slips shall not be accepted as one would be required to produce original certificates.

Other key documents required include; testimonials, Kenya National ID, applicant’s Birth Certificate and the KRA PIN Certificate.

Similarly, it is compulsory for applicants to meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution as well as be physically and medically fit.

For women contestants, NPS says, “They should not be pregnant at the time of recruitment and during the ENTIRE training period.”

NPS consequently cautioned all stakeholders with engaging in corrupt activities or personification would face the law.
